I have been teaching in Wake County since 2008 and this is my fourth year as the science specialist at Leesville. I grew up in Beaver Falls, PA which is located outside of Pittsburgh. I went to college at Penn State where I earned my degree in Environmental Interpretation and Wildlife Sciences. After college, I spent a year teaching Environmental Education in the Outer Banks. I enjoyed teaching there so much that I decided to become a classroom teacher. I traveled cross-country and earned my Masters in Teaching in Elementary Education and General Science from the University of Washington in Seattle. In my spare time, I try to spend as much time outside as possible. I enjoy running, hiking, and exploring new places with my husband, son, and our dog.
